Pat Barkley is a Licensed Professional Counselor and is licensed to supervise LPC interns. She is also a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor.

She earned her Bachelors Degree in Psychology, with Honors, from the University of Texas at Dallas and her Masters Degree from the University of North Texas. Pat’s experience began in 1988, specializing in counseling and psychotherapy. She has worked at the Acute Care Level as a Treatment Manager at Green Oaks Hospital in Dallas, and as a Program Manager on the Dual Diagnosis Unit at the Cedars Hospital (currently Hickory Trails) in Desoto. She has worked with adolescents, couples and families, as well as individuals, in private practice.

She specializes in working with patients with mood disorders, stress and anger issues, relationship issues; and, as an LCDC, with those suffering from substance abuse and/or chemical dependency issues. Pat believes therapy to be a collaborative process and that by placing emotional disorders within the realm of everyday experience and suggesting familiar problem-solving techniques, the therapist can start to help the client at their first contact.
